ASAP Automation (ASAP) was formed back in 1989 to provide software solutions for real-time automation and integrated material handling systems. Our initial installations were developed based on the “C” programming language, DOS, Novell LANs and PLCs for controls for automation. ASAP was one of the industry pioneers in using PC based solutions for Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). As ASAP grew, we continued to specialize in interfacing to advanced automation technologies like Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), picking technologies such as Pick To Light, Pick To Display, and Pick To Voice, sortation systems, and handheld scanners. In 1995, ASAP Automation began merging PC based controls with the “ASAP Plus” WMS. This allowed ASAP providing swifter implementation of the equipment controls elements to their customers, as well as supplying the platform to merge information flow with material flow. Much of ASAP’s recent controls success is based on PC based controls and Human Machine Interfaces. Also in 1995 ASAP began to manufacture our own family of Light Directed Picking devices for paperless picking. In 1997, Bill Bastian II with Bastian Material Handling (Bastian) purchased ASAP Automation. The combination of the sales and project management resources at Bastian with the advanced software and controls of ASAP was a powerful blend. At that time, Bill Bastian II became President of ASAP Automation. To accommodate increasing product development needs, in 1998 ASAP Automation established a wholly owned subsidiary, AAI India Private Limited, in Bengaluru India. This resource focused on providing the programming support needed to grow ASAP Automation. In November of 1999, ASAP launched their flagship Warehouse Management Software (WMS) suite named Exacta®. This automation for supply chain logistics represents leading methodologies to execute e-business strategies. In August of 2000, ASAP established their first satellite office in Denver Colorado to service the Western portion of the U.S. In February of 2001, ASAP established their second satellite office in Indianapolis Indiana to support the many Exacta® projects in Central Indiana. In April of 2001 Bill Bastian II was named CEO. In November 2008, Damir Kantardzic was named President of ASAP Automation. Today, ASAP Automation enjoys tremendous growth (in excess of 30% annually) and serves a wide variety of clients throughout the U.S. and Canada.
