Seam Welding Machine

Mechelonic Engineers manufactures a special purpose servo controlled Seam Welding Machine, Model SPM-SE-330. This is specially designed for continuous and roll spot seam welding of plate type and economical type heat exchangers. The machine is provided with a two-axis servo controlled sheet handling system that can handle sheets of up to 4 m by 1.25 m. The machine is completely programmable to cover a wide range of sizes of heat exchangers, including length, width, thickness, material, weld location and patterns. This flexibility helps to cover all possible combinations and designs of heat exchanger within the specified range. The machine is also provided with specially designed adjustable and disappearing type hydraulic clamps and locators to enable welding of all four sides welding of jobs of various sizes with minimum set up/change over time. Precise position control on both axes of movements provides accuracy of weld pattern and its repeatability. The weld quality attained on this machine is suitable for high pressures that are required by applications in heat exchanger industries. Technical data: sheet thickness – 1.2 to 3.2 mm; machine power – 350 kVA; sheet size – 4000 x 1250 mm; speed – up to 2 mtr/min; and material – SS/MS.
