The inverter based MIG/MAG welding outlet comes with high efficiency (>85%) and high power factor (>0.90); there is no need of power factor correction capacitors, and its boasts the lowest power consumption – saves considerable input power compared to the thyristorised power sources. It also has the lowest weight, weighing only 45 kg, enabling easy movement on the shop floor. Salient features: stepless variation of voltage and current through potentiometers provided on wire feed unit; a truly constant voltage characteristic ensures a very good welding performance as compared to open loop controlled thyristor based equipment; an in-built "Arc Force Control" provided for optimum welding performance throughout the range; in-built protection against single phasing, under voltage, thermal overload and over current; in-built digital ammeter/voltmeter for display of weld parameters; in-built slow start ignition – this greatly enhances arc striking capability of this equipment; in-built over current protection for wire feed motor – in case of overload, the motor will stop rotating automatically to avoid from burning; in-built protection against arc interrupts – the wire feeder stops feeding wire, when ignition fails or when arc breaks for more than 0.5 sec; and wire diameter selection switch (0.8/1.0/1.2) – with this switch it is possible to get better arc stability and appearance of weld bead, 4 roll wire feed unit with efficient and high response servo wire feeder motor with high torque to inertia ratio.
