Lorch Ellenbarrie Welding Products offers a combined MIG-Brazing and MIG-MAG-Welding Unit, Model M 3030 Automotive. MSG (Metal-Shielding-Gas) – called brazing or soldering, is a hard-soldering-procedure. The electrical arc burns between the down-melting, continuous applied soldering wire electrode and the workpiece. The added shielded gas protects the arc and the liquid soldering metal against the influences of the ambient air. The application is as simple as MIG-MAG-welding. MIG-brazing offers clear advantages for the joining of galvanised sheets compared to MIG-MAG-welding. Only a fractional zinc melting loss occurs in the immediate soldering zone (zinc melts at 419°C, evaporates at 906°C) due to the low melting temperatures of the soldering wire (approximately 1000°C). The soldering seam features a high corrosion resistance and enables a more easy surface treatment. The soldering wires consist of copper based alloy with alloy shares of, for example, silicon or aluminium. There is a fraction of distortion, even on very thin sheets, due to the low contribution of warmth. Coated (galvanised, phosphated, aluminised) and uncoated steelsheets, stainless steel and steel/stainless steel compounds (black/white compounds) may be soldered. Soldering seams consist of very good assembly firmness. Shielding gas: pure argon or argon with minor alloy. Galvanised thin sheet is used in the automotive construction, building industry, air conditioning technology, household appliances and furniture industry. MIG-brazing is ideal for these purposes.
