Heat Element-Welding Machine Joins Thermoplastic Synthetic Materials

Sonotronic Nagel, Germany, has developed a heating element-welding machine for a short welding cycle. In thermoplastics welding dependent on the fusion pressure, the fusion pressure is recorded and is represented in pressure-time and path-time diagrams. This enables the control of the feed and prevents a displacement of the melt from the weld seam. The adjustments optimised by the diagrams and the servomotors enable a short shift period from warming up to joining and thus a shorter welding cycle. Varying melt viscosities are compensated automatically through the pressure dependent control of the feeding speed. While joining, pressurising of the cold material is avoided through a feed control. All welding parameters can be monitored.
