High Speed Horizontal Production Centre

The SPN63 horizontal production centre is a larger-capacity version of the manufacturer's SPN40 and SPN50 machines. A stationary column/travelling saddle is designed with limited mass in order to achieve fast 1575 ipm traverse speeds. A high-speed, powerful (40 HP) spindle further enhances SPN63's performance, with acceleration to 10,000RPM injust 2.7 seconds. The SPN63 also features a synchronous swing-motion tool change system. As a result, tool change (44-lb tool) takes only 1.4 seconds, and chip-to-chip time is just 3.8 seconds. In conjunction with the high speed performance and high metal chip removal rates is a design that also facilitates excellent chip evacuation. Chips are evacuated from the rear of the machine instead of the more common front evacuation method, utilizing high speed augers. Other important features include fast pallet exchange time of just 9.5 seconds; load capacity of 2,650 lbs; positioning repeatability of 0.00006"; tool magazine options of 40 to 230-positions; and a compact 114"wide x 169"deep footprint given its sizeable capacity.
