Fast Cutting Submerged Wire Edms

The Robocut C Series of wire EDMs is a line of submerged machines with cutting speeds up to 28 square inches per hour, whether the machine is running in AC or DC mode. Switchable AC operation of EDMs is recommended for many metals and applications where use of DC current will corrode, crack, or weaken the workpiece or rust or blemish the cutting surface. Under non-electrolysis AC operation, the submerged wire EDM suppresses any potential anodic oxidation of a workpiece, which is especially helpful when working with die steel, where the upper and lower surfaces of the workpiece are prevented from rusting. Materials such as cubic boron nitride (CBN), titanium alloys, and aluminium can be EDMed from rough to finish cut. Machined surfaces are protected against electrolytic effects and, in the case of titanium alloys, from discoloring of workpiece surfaces, says the builder. The three submersible EDM models feature four separate 32-bit processors monitoring critical machine operations, conversational programming, programmable Z axis, programmable water levels, and artificial intelligence functions.
