Rambo is a line of portable and mobile co-ordinate measuring machines (CMMs)Based on a ram-type open side design, the machine has been developed as a flexible concept specifically for the tough shop floor environment, with emphasis on measuring where parts are made. Available as either manual only or as CNC with manual mode, the Rambo CMM features machine tool bearings and ways for durability, with full enclosures for ways, bearings, motors and scales. A true benchtop, the machine requires only an 18" x 30" footprint on a table surface to operate. The manufacturer offers several base options, including a metal cart on wheels, so the CMM can be easily moved to the job at the machine tool. Requiring only a standard 120 volt power source, Rambo weighs 175 lbs. Measuring range is X = 12", Y = 12", and Z = 10", with options to 60" in X. Volumetric accuracy is 0.00036", and is intrinsic mechanical accuracy without 3D compensation.
