Electric Upsetting Machine for Rear Axles

Keje Electric Company has successfully developed a 300 kVA x 2 electric upsetting machine for real axles for the first time in India. The equipment is suitable for pre-forming the axles just before forging. This machine caters to forming axles up to 50 mm diameter and 1500 length. In electric upsetting, the current flows through the bar, heating one end to forging temperature and simultaneously feeding cold material in the hot zone by hydraulic pressure. What the company made, is an onion shaped head ready for forging. The material that can be fed is unlimited, there by eliminating the use of multistage upsetter. The equipment is robustly built to allow 50 mm dia bar to gather uniformly. It has an intricately designed hydraulic system for providing a force up to 25 tonnes. A unique feature of this machine is that the entire cycle is automatic. The job is sensed and gathered to the set diameter. Hence, can be used in conjunction with a loading and an unloading robot. Linear guide-ways provided on the machine ensure accuracy of the machine-microns.
