The Goss/Porta CNC rotary transfer machine is a sixstation machine, complemented with 11 ballscrew positioning "flexible manufacturing units." It utilizes a vertical trunnion assembly supported from above, a design that greatly enhances the chip flow process and allows access to all machine spindles for rapid tool change, says the builder. This "flexicell" will also demonstrate CNC, two-axis contouring, X-, Y-, and Z-axis positioning, and linear adjustment of the machining units. Windows software is interfaced with the Allen-Bradley control unit. Accessories include various spindle and horsepower sizes, power draw bars, high-pressure coolant through the spindle, a tool monitoring system, complete turnkey tooling/fixturing packages, and complete automation/material handling systems.
