Designed for the application requirements of today and tomorrow, the latest model of Salvagnini automatic panel bender, the P4lean-2520, which had its world premiere at Blechexpo 2015 in Stuttgart, incorporates all the most advanced bending technology and lean manufacturing concepts and integrates them with new technical features.

It is the result of a thorough analysis of the market and of the 3,000 panel benders manufactured and installed at Salvagnini customers’ sites all over the world, and truly represents the new lean generation of Salvagnini panel benders.

The development of these machines has followed clear guidelines dictated by the everyday needs of companies that work in the sheet metal processing business: being future-ready, thanks to a winning solution for both today’s and tomorrow’s production requirements; drawing great inspiration from the wealth of experience the company has gained by listening and responding to the various demands voiced by its customers in numerous fields; offering a reliable and easy production system; and, last but not least, creating a machine which can easily be integrated into FMC flexible manufacturing cells and communicate with other systems/devices in Industry 4.0 factories.

Salvagnini’s lean panel benders know how to meet these requirements thanks to their distinctive features. Unique bending tools for creating parts, panels and profiles from 0.4 to 3.2 mm provide the operator with maximum flexibility. Productivity is ensured by automatic tool changes in masked time without any time loss for set-up. Variations in sheet behaviour are automatically compensated thanks to the MAC 2.0 technology, making the P4lean an intelligent production system. At the same time, programming is easy, and the bending process can be simulated in 3D, thanks to the EDITP4 2.0 software, making the machine easy to use.

The lean design of the panel bender shows in its consumption of just 9 kW on a model 2.5 m long, more than 30% less than previous models, and in its optimised compact layout and lean architecture. Thanks to zero set-up times, the absence of waste and the elimination of work-in-progress handling, the P4lean panel bender by Salvagnini totally embodies lean manufacturing philosophy.
