DMG India offers from Deckel MAHO, the new DMU T Series Universal Milling Machines in monobloc construction method. While its predecessor was designed as a console machine, the new DMU 60 T (along with the both new machines DMU 80 T and DMU 100 T) demonstrates the innovative monobloc concept. What this actually means is that whereas the workpiece was previously treated along two axes, the platform (which is directly fitted to the compact monobloc) now "concentrates" on the traverse of the Z-axis and thus on the axis with the shortest traversing time. Accordingly, the advantages of this design in terms of performance (0.4 g instead of 0.2 g in X and Y as up to now) hardly require further explanation. As a fortunate side-effect, the arrangement of the X- and Y-axis in the milling head ensures the same machining conditions independently of the workpiece height. The monobloc design is furthermore responsible for high performance in terms of compactness and stability. And last but not least, this layout concept is the basis of the unit"s ergonomic design, where a single revolving barrier offers access to 90% of the working area. The standard versions of the DMU 60 T, DMU 80 T and DMU 100 T are supplied with a manual-swivel milling head (+91? to -12?). As an option, the manual-swivel head can be adapted for powered adjustment or use with a direct measuring system. The customer may also decide to choose a CNC B-axis, so that - in conjunction with a CNC interchangeable platform - 5-sided/5-axis machining, even of highly complex workpieces, becomes possible. The 5-axis (table or add-on module) unit can also be fitted as a later modification.
