Milling Machine

The No-Skil mill is an artificial-intelligence-driven milling machine that is said to require no skill to operate. The controller for this mill can also be retrofitted to customers" own machines. By using a touch-screen interface linked to an expert control system(ECS), the user can carry out complex machining tasks without needingtoknow anything about milling or computer numerical control (CNC) programming. The computer makes all the decisions on how to cut the metal with the tools available, and the machine itself has only to be told what is required. A CD-ROM option will be available, showing users how to make repairs if a fault causes the system to fail. The manufacturer says the No-Skil mill significantly outperforms conventional machines, improving production potential, as well as saving labour costs by being able to use unskilled workers.
