The DMU 210 P not only provides its users with significant added value as regards optics (due the huge viewing panels of the new DMG design) and control system (Siemens 840D solutionline or iTNC 530 and MillPlus iT from Heidenhain) but this portal designed 5-axes machine also knows how to impress with regard to construction and technology. There is up to 150 mm more traverse path in the linear axes X, Y and Z of currently 1,800 x 2,100 x 1,250 mm. At the same time, the pass line height of the portal was increased to 1,480 mm. The table diameter is specified at 1,700 mm, whereas the table itself has an impressive 60% higher load capacity and can now receive workpieces of up to 8,000 kg. No less formidable is the up to 100% higher axis speed of the faster rotary axes: The B-axis of the DMU 210 P rotates at 30 RPM, and additionally the new B-axis swivel milling head now has a wider swivel range of 210?, whereas users previously had to make do with 187?. Lastly for the straight line, the new 5-axes universal milling centre DMU 210 P now provides that bit extra: for example, the X axis now accelerates at a dynamic 4 m/s? instead of the previously 3 m/s?. Concerning spindles, apart from the standard spindle with 10,000 RPM, the user can choose between versions with stronger torques, like the 5X torqueMASTER? spindle with up to 1,550 Nm or spindles with faster rotational speeds with 12000, 18000 and 30000 RPM. In the standard version, the tools are replaced from a tool magazine with 60 pockets, but a configuration with space for up to 180 tools is also available.
