Horizontal Milling Machine

DMG India has launched a new horizontal machining centre, DMC 100 H duoBLOCK®, a compact third generation machine that offers higher stability and permits higher workpiece and tool weights despite its smaller footprint. The duoBLOCK guarantees high stability, increased dynamics and reliable precision for many years. With 15 per cent increase in rigidity together with the newly designed pallet changer enables it to machine workpieces weighing up to 2,000 kg. Highlights: high machine dynamics and maximum stability due to high static mass and weight-optimised moving components; optimum chip flow due to steeply slanted covers and cabin walls; space-saving design with chip removal to the rear; vertical chain magazine for maximum process reliability and short ancillary times with chip-to-chip times of 3.9 seconds; and workpiece weights of up to 2,000 kg thanks to the new pallet changer concept. In addition to the 52 kW motor spindle with rotational speeds of up to 12,000 rpm and a torque of up to 430 Nm, the DMC 100 H duoBLOCK with the SK50 or HSK A100 interface also offers a gear spindle with a rating of 44 kW and a torque of 1,240 Nm for heavy-duty cutting. The tools are made available by a vertical chain magazine providing space for up to 240 tools, reducing the tool provision time to only 5 seconds. In conjunction with the fast, cam-controlled twin gripper, this makes it possible to achieve chip-to-chip times of 3.9 seconds, representing a 30 per cent reduction in ancillary time. The machine offers further extension stages for automation, in addition to the fast pallet changer. Other highlights include: Siemens 840D solutionline or Heidenhain iTNC530; and RS5 or RS10 circular magazine with up to 12 pallets, the entire system as space-saving automation solution.
