The Mighty-Comet MV-5 precision, heavy duty, highly rigid construction CNC bed mill features the Dynapath 50 M CNC designed for machining steel, aluminium, composites, wood, graphite and plastics for cost effective, consistently accurate parts production. The versatile bed mill is based on rigid construction: heavy duty square ways on the column and cross ways; precision ground ballscrews; spindle angular contact ball bearings; chromed pulley motor shaft; Turcite ? B lining on the X and Y saddle ways; and the table, saddle and knee ways are hardened and ground to HRc 55 for wear resistance. Furthermore, the MV-5 is equipped with a No 40 extra heavy duty spindle, the ram and turret are precision ground for a superior fit, and an overload safety device is integrated with the motor. The bed mill is equipped with a 1,500-lb load, 42"x 13"table and features travels of 30"(X), 20"(Y), and a full 20"(Z) with a 5"spindle quill travel and 20"throat distance to the column. Additionally, the MV-5 delivers 250 IPM traverse rates and 0.1 to 150 IPM feed rates with positioning accuracy of ?0.0004"and ?0.0002"repeatabilities and features a No 40 spindle taper, 5-HP 70-3850 RPM spindle. Supporting these accelerations and decelerations as well as a host of tabour saving unattended functions is the 32-bit industrial PC 486-based DynaPath Delta 50M control. Part programming formats are switchable between DynaPath menu-driven conversational and conventional EIA/ISO G-codes for operational flexibility. Conversational graphics with interactive visual help screens enhances the ease of programming while the high-resolution interpolated graphics feature verifies a part profile and analyses cutting time prior to machining. Additionally, the 50M combines the power and speed of today? s latest technology with shop floor proven DynaPath experience. The 50M features a 32-bit 486-75 MHz processor, up to 3.0 millisecond block processing times, a high speed, noise immune scrial CANbus interface for communication with DC I/O and CNC operators panel, and a noise and vibration hardened system module enclosure.
