Spepurmac Engineering Services offers CNC Cam Milling Machine. This is special purpose, conventional and highly sophisticated CNC cam machine. Special features: three major axis of controlled movement - 1. "C" axis - the camshaft is held in the work head spindle and in tailstock. This spindle is in fact a gearbox with nil/minimum backlash driven by one of the stopper motors and will have reduction motion. The job is to be running while being machined with the high reduction ratio gearbox and some torque for the stepper motor. 2. "X" axis - side and face type milling cutter is proposed to be used and is mounted on the cross axis with cutter axis parallel to the camshaft axis. A ball screw and nut is used, of suitable pitch to provide a radial cutting motion. The set resolution on this axis is implemented by using a timing belt pulley drive of some reduction to the ball screw. With such reduction and the mechanical advantage of the screw, high torque is available to take heavy cutting force on this axis. 3. "Z" axis (table shift) - the camshaft work spindle, i.e., axis "C" is supposed to be mounted in this axis and is perpendicular to camshaft axis. The only cam lobe positioning against the cross axis will be performed by this axis. Again mechanism similar to "X" axis will be used for this axis also. Due care is taken to ensure nil or minimum backlash. EPROM programming facility will help user change the EPROM to suit different size and shape whenever new job is selected
