Jasmer Machine Tools offers an all geared milling machine, Model UM-2/VM-2. Specifications: table size – 1300 x 2800 mm; t-slots – 3 x 14; distance between t-slots – 60 mm; longitudinal traverse – 660 mm; cross traverse – 200 mm; vertical traverse – 400 mm; spindle nose – ISO-40; spindle speeds – 8 (40-1150); table feed (cross and longitudinal) – 8 (15-150); rapid traverse – 1150 mm; arbor dia-only for UM models – 1”; draw bolt dia for arbor – 16 mm; swing of vertical heads to either side (only in vertical models) – 90º; spindle motor – 2 HP/1400 RPM; feed motor – 2 HP/925 RPM; cool pump – 0.1 HP/2800 RPM; the base of heavy rigid casting serving also as coolant tank; it provides a suitable platform for robust operation; the column is again of rigid built; traces are hand scraped and lapped/ground; the heavy knee is made as a box and rests on a vertical column equipped with thrust bearing and protected from dirt and chips by telescopic covers. The moveable parts inside are protected foreign matter and coolant, the knee being closed at the upper end. All the hand wheels are relatable. The automatic feeds in all three directions are limited by means of adjustable feed trip dogs. Standard equipment: electric motor, electric coolant pump with fitting, electric panel, and one inch dia arbor. Extra equipment: swivel base, machine vice, rotary table 300 and 400 mm with indexing plate, ISO 40 adaptor and collets.
