3-Roll Plate Bending System

MTE offers fully hydraulic double pinch 3-roll plate bending rolls suitable for rolling of plates 6-150 mm thick and 2,000-6,000 mm wide. Both ends of the plates can be prebend and rolled without removing and turning over of plates unlike in the case of pyramid end initial pinch type machines. All the three rolls are driven independently by direct mounted hydraulic motors/speed reducers giving optimum power distribution. Rigid structure coupled with powerful hydraulic drive gives best bending results with minimum flat ends and good rolling quality. Electronic microprocessor controlled hydraulic rolls parallelism gives maximum reliability and accuracy with least maintenance. All electronic controls are housed on wheel mounted movable operator console, enabling direct control of operations. The rolls can be easily inclined for conical bending and readjusted independently to reset rolls parallelism electronically, directly from the console. Each of the three rolls is supported on minimum of two bearings at each end, ensuring perfect alignment of bending axis, better load distribution, and long trouble free operation. All steel welded heavily proportioned structure, end frames, drop end and side roll guides are designed to withstand the bending forces created when bending heavy plates. Rolls are of high carbon content steel forgings for good surface hardness and crowned to eliminate bowing under heavy load and provide better grip of light material when rolling on larger machines. For machines used primarily for rolling stainless steel or for frequent cone rolling, flame hardened-ground rolls can be provided optionally. Independent adjustment of rolls makes this machine excellent for cone bending. Optional accessories like overhead and side support devices help prevent thin sheets from collapsing under self-weight while rolling to large diameters, and eliminate the need for jib cranes or overhead cranes, allowing one-man-operation.
