Centreless burnishing machine

Swiss Machine Tools manufactures centreless burnishing machine, which is used to superfinish shafts with outer diameter ranging from 3 to 45 mm in steps. The machine is equipped with PLC control and with AC variable drive and the same is used for burnishing on following applications, viz, pump/motor shafts, ceiling/table fan shafts as well car window balancer shafts, engine valves, etc. The maximum deformation is in the range of 1 to 4 microns and the surface roughness is in the tune of 0.02 to 0.04 RA micron value as well surface hardness increases by almost 60 to 100% in core depth of 20 microns and hence increases life of shaft. Important parameter ovality is improved after burnishing, the machine is centreless hence no limitation of component length and even hardened components up to 60 HRC can be burnished by carbide rollers. The company also manufactures roller burnishing tools and lapping machines.
