DMG Mori Seiki India Machines And Services Pvt Ltd had on display at IMTEX 2015 the new design Vertical Machining Centre, ecoMill 635 V. The ecoMill V defines a global standard and is now available with a new technology package, as well as powerful feed motors for high rapid traverses and a fast motor spindle. These enhancements make tool changing faster for greater productivity. The proven 12,000 rpm spindle is well suited for drilling operations with small tools in combination with the optional internal coolant supply system. It is also capable of high cutting speeds for use with modern tools to produce optimal surface finishes. Highlights: powerful spindle – 12,000 rpm/83 Nm (40% DC)/13 kW (40% DC); tool magazine with 20 tool pockets – (30 pockets optional) with fast double gripper; reduced downtimes – 30 m/min rapid traverse, 1.6 sec tool change time; highest rigidity and precision as well as a small footprint with the C-frame design; largest control variety – SLIMline® with Operate 4.5 on Siemens 840D solutionline, SLIMline with Heidenhain TNC 620 with clear text dialogue and MAPPS IV from Mitsubishi; DMG SMARTkey®; and DMG Netservice. Additionally, the new design impresses with more functionality, extra user-friendliness and high value retention. Large viewing windows ensure the best possible view of the work area for better monitoring of the production process. Access facilities and the interior working area are designed so that it is easy for operators to reach inside and to ensure optimum chip disposal during the machining process. In addition, the safety glass windows can be removed from the outside, which benefits service friendliness.
