Vertical machining centre - VMC-40 from Rajkot-based Jyoti Enterprise has high precision and cutting speed capability. The digital high-tech linear motor provided offers acceleration up to 10 M/s2 and rapid traverses of up to 100 M/min. The two drives of motor are synchronised by separate position measuring systems preventing unequal forces. The spindle housed in large diameter super precision ceramic angular contact bearings helps in increasing rigidity, speed and precision. It is designed to provide quick start and stops. The automatic tool changer (optional feature) has 20 tool stations with twin ARM tool changer, which reduces the cycle time for machining. The tool-to-tool time is 2.5 seconds.
