EMAG Group of Germany, a manufacturer of turning machines, dates back to 1867 as a foundry and machine tool company. In the beginning these were simple engine and bar lathes, followed ? in the 1960s ? by turret lathes, then program-controlled single- and two-spindle automatics, and finally highly efficient, modular single- and multi-spindle automatics and special purpose machines for the production of car components. In the 1980s EMAG was very successful in building highly automated CNC turning cells, which were used worldwide by a variety of industries. Nowadays, these machines ? the same in design, differing only in the tooling system ? can also be used as multi-functional production centres for drilling, milling, grinding, gear hobbing and other associated processes. The company offers multi-functional production centres. These machines in gantry design have a high chip capacity and are ideal for the complete machining of large workpieces. Technology integration allows for complete-machining in a single set-up: soft and hard machining, interrupted cuts, turning, drilling, milling, grinding, heavy-duty machining at the highest precision. Specifications: chuck dia ? 400 to 1250 mm; swing dia ? 820 to 1500 mm; X-axis travel ? 2350 to 2960 mm; and Z-axis travel ? 500 to 1000 mm.
