The new Mazak high precision and high productive IMPULSE 30 is a drilling and tapping centre with an additional capability of light machining of aluminium and steel components. The maximum tapping performance is achieved by the high speed synchronised tapping feature with an accurate spindle that attains 4,000 RPM speed in just 0.24 second. The tap life on IMPULSE 30 is so high that virtually no deterioration of tapped threads is seen after continuous tapping of 10,000 holes in aluminium or 3,000 holes in steel. The machine is with travelling column construction with 3 options for table and has a variety of advantages including excellent accessibility to the spindle and the workpiece. IMPULSE 30 is available in the following 3 types with I 0 tools/20 tools ATC: Type A is with a standard table of 600 mm x 400 mm. Type B is with a table having indexing arrangement facilitating two working areas of 600 mm x 400 mm. Type C is with a double table or long table facility (1570 mm x 400 mm) accommodating a total of 20 tools with two ATC. Salient features of IMPULSE 30 are: maintenance-free ATC system; unsurpassed ease of operation; smaller floor space requirement; high performance new advanced CNC system; manual pulse generator with settings of I-pulse, 10-pulse and 100-pulse; and the spindle and axis motor load dis-played in graphical form. Tool path display, programme monitoring and self-diagnostics are available.
