Okk Corporation, Japan, has developed a new line of compact machining centres to machine complex parts with uncompromising speed and superior accuracy. Model PCV 55 has many outstanding features. It is provided with Fanuc 18 MC 32-bit CNC control system. Motorised spindle is provided as standard. The output power reduction is eliminated, resulting in improved cutting performance. Standard spindle speed is 6,000 RPM. Optionally, 10,000 RPM, 12,000 RPM or 20,000 RPM can be provided. The spindle taper is BT 50. Main spindle motor is AC 22/18.5 kW. The soft scale technology of Okk provides thermal compensation for ballscrews. HQ control, a patented technology of Okk, is provided as standard for high speed machining. This feature increases the productivity by allowing the cutting feed rates to be pushed to the limit. Smoother cutting performance is achieved by using sturdy square guideways. Similarly hyper HQ control can be provided optionally for machining of complex die contours. The ATC is cam operated type and the tool change time is 2.0 seconds. Many options like chip conveyor, NC rotary table, pallet changer, touch sensor system, etc, can be provided optionally. PCV 55 has X, Y, Z traverse of X 1,020 mm, Y 560 mm and Z 520 mm.
