Benchtop Machining Centre with Acramatic 2100 Control

The VMC-5000 machining centre features the Acramatic 2100, developed by Cincinnati Milacron"s (now Vickers) Electronic Systems Division. Dual 486DX processors and the Windows NT multitasking operating system allow one processor to control machine motions while the other processor allows the operator to use spectraCAM, the on-board CAD/CAM package, to generate additional tool paths. The operator workstation"s colour touch screen is inviting and easy to use, providing operator input and program editing functions. A hand-held pendant with LCD readout, machine operation pushbuttons, handwheel, and spindle speed and feedrate override potentiometers provides machining functions. The VMC-5000 machining centre has an XYZ work envelope of 12" x 6" x 9" and features a high-tech polymer composite base that provides excellent vibration dampening for smoother surface finishes and extends tool life. A 1-HP brushless DC spindle motor provides speeds of up to 5,000 RPM with standard R8 taper spindle.
