Kirloskar Electric, over the past decade, has mastered the art of retrofitting machine tools. It has designed a range of retrofit control packages to match machine tools manufactured around the world. It includes centre ladies up to 8 m ABC, up to size 2 milling machines, flame cutting machines, large boring and jig boring machines, VTLs and SPMs. The typical retrofit package from Kirloskar Electric consists of high precision ballscrew, feedback transducers, high performance feed drive packages, mechanical elements, air-conditioned interface panel and guards wherever required. The hallmark of Kirloskar Electric retrofit package is optimum performance through efficient design and engineering excellence. Flexible design capability permits features like taper and multi-start thread cutting on lathes, helical interpolation and mould rotations on milling machines. Kirloskar Electric also has low cost CNC lathes to cater to the entire gamut of production machine shops. The low cost CNC fitted lathes have been built on the experiences gained in the field by retrofitting innumerable machines. The range of these low cost machines caters to educational institutions, production machine shops, ancillaries to automobile industry, etc.
