EGA Master manufactures the widest range of non sparking tools in the world, manufacturing them in different alloys such as copper berylium, aluminium bronze, Acetilex®, copper and brass. The decision on which alloy to choose needs to be done depending on the required safety measures, durability, frequency of use or magneticity, among other factors. "Non sparking" tools are not totally spark-less. What makes them so is that the spark they can generate does not have the necessary energy to create the ignition of explosive gases or dusts. So they are completely safe, and should be called "explosion safe", "low energy spark" or "cold spark" tools. Risky gases are classified according to the minimum energy required to deflagrate. If tools are to be used in Risk Group of gases IIC (the most risky one, for example hydrogen gas), then copper berylium has to be chosen. As the minimum energy required to create the deflagration of these gases is lower than the potential energy an spark of aluminum bronze alloy can generate, the only 100% safe choice in these IIC group is copper berylium. In any of the other groups, both alloys are completely safe. The company also produces copper and brass hammers, for applications where low hardness and non-sparking properties are both required at the same time.
