Electrochemical Machine

Vohras International offers Electrochemical Machines (ECM). This is a process for the electrochemical removal of stock from metal materials without physical contact. These materials are not exposed to either mechanical or thermal stress. Consequently, the physical or chemical properties of the materials will remain unchanged. The removal of metal follows the Law of Faraday, i.e., the amount of material removed is proportional to the product of current intensity and active time. Theoretically, in electrochemical machines, besides the electric current, only water is consumed. In practice, however, the electrolyte salt needs to be replenished because of the loss of electrolytes when removing sledge and because the electrolyte remains on the removed work pieces.
