The X80ST is ideal for larger parts common to the die casting and mould and forging die industries. The stationary 40" x 112" worktable, which is an integral part of the machine base, allows workpiece over 30,000 lbs to be machined. The 80" x 40" X- and Y-axis movement is provided by DC servomotors with precision ground preloaded baliscrews and is supported by hardened and ground ways, with recirculating preloaded bearings. The large worktank (120" x 53") has easy access by a removable front door operated by air cylinders. Small intricate work may also be done in the machine because of the precision machine head. The patented head features preloaded opposed roller bearings with precision ground box ways for greater accuracy. Z- axis machining is controlled by a DC servomotor with a precision ballscrew. The head will support electrodes up to 600 lbs. Monitor, keyboard and remote hand-held control are all mounted on the pendant for accessibility and ease of operation. Some other features of the machine include a diagnostics program with suggested solutions, liquid chiller and heat exchanger, automatic fire suppression, air conditioned CNC control and drives, liquid heat sensing and level control, and automatic lubrication. The Xermate CNC software package, which runs on the X820T, features a menu-based interface with simple English commands and dual processors for speed and accuracy.
