The range of Super Keyless Drill Chucks (SBF) incorporates a unique self-tightening feature, which automatically increases clamping force as the cutting force increases. This works only with a clockwise use. SBF is available in 8 sizes ranging from 0 to 1.5 mm, up to 1.5 to 16 mm capacity. With the 1.5mm capacity chuck, you will find a scale of presetting (nonius), thus even the smallest drill can be inserted and clamped with the highest precision. Mount choices include tapers according to DIN 239 or Jacob’s Standards. A variety of UNF threads are also available. Integral shank is available as Morse taper, cylindrical shaft or R8 taper for Bridgeport Machines. The advantage against a chuck/taper combination is a shorter length, hence suitable for machines with a small work envelope. This results in a higher rigidity and run-out accuracy.
