Double Inserts

Komet Precision Tools offers Double Inserts. This is used for machining steels and aluminium, which produce long chips. The insert for drilling depths up to 5 x D is traditionally supplied for machining steel and cast iron in the diameter ranges 17.3 to 36.2 millimeters. In future the insert drills will also be available in all four-insert sizes with cylindrical shank connection. Inserts in tough cutting materials and with chip guide step extend the application area for the tools to steels, which produce long chips. For extremely soft aluminium materials, inserts are available with chip guide step, together with a coating especially suited to aluminium. This means that, in addition to classic steel and cast iron machining, the technical advantages of insert drills, with two tangentially arranged, replaceable inserts with innovative centre geometry, without chisel point, are now available for machining stainless steels and aluminium materials.
