The tool is used just like any cutting tool found on a lathe turret or tool magazine of a milling machine. It removes burrs especially from the intersection of the holes. The operation can be tailored to leave a minimally broken edge or a blended radius. The main benefits of using this tool are – consistent results and consistent quality, increased throughput/shorter cycle time, reduced deburring cost, no set-up for secondary deburring operations, no batch and queue and ideal for controlled process environment. Orbitool parts come in three standard sizes and can be ordered accordingly – deburring tool, cutter and flexible holder. The ‘Orbi-Bit’, is a diamond or CBN coated tool for fine deburring/edge cutting of intersecting edges. The tool can be used with sensitive electric/pneumatic hand grinder. The polished ring prevents damage to the bore. It is available in two sizes – 1/8" (3.18 mm) and ¼" (6.35 mm).
