Marco Polo Products specialises in developing ideas into fully functional prototypes and through to production. The company has a dedicated team of engineers with expertise in pattern making, design engineering, industrial design, prototyping and traditional model making, ensuring the utilisation of the most appropriate process for the requirement, with reduced lead times and greater cost efficiency. The focus areas are functional prototypes in production intent materials, machined prototypes in a wide range of materials, rapid prototypes and vacuum castings, metal castings, thermoforming and FRP. From low volume silicone tooling to higher volume aluminium tools, the company can supply tooling and parts required in the shortest possible lead times. Extensive experience in PU casting has produced soft feel elastomeric components, high temperature applications and fully functional models all the way to full size bumpers and dashboards, and large sized appliance components. Continual dimension checks ensure the design accuracy of all our products. Whether a one off representative model is required for styling sign off or for display, or a fully functioning assembled prototype ready for fit and function analysis, the company has a range of manufacturing processes to meet customers’ needs. It has facilities for CNC and conventional machining on plastic blocks, wood, thermocole and similar materials. Using CNC machining, accurate parts can be obtained at very low costs. Input needed is a 3D CAD file or a detailed 2D drawing. Using CNC machining the following can be achieved: functional prototypes, visual prototypes, soft moulds using machined aluminium. Machining can be done on: ABS, PP, acrylic, polycarbonate, noryl, nylon and glass filled nylon, delrin, aluminium, steel, modelling board, MDF.
