Broaching Tools

Broaching process is a cost-effective one-pass alternative to reaming, milling, or shaping, which joins CNC state-of-the-art technologies with the time-honoured craft or broaching as it has evolved over the past century and a half. Advantages of manufacturing with broaching technology: precision machining of identical parts; more accurate cuts over large runs; smooth superior surface finishes on complex shapes; more pieces per hour, per tool, per resharpening; standard or customized applications; less frequent tool replacement. Broach tooling applications are categorised as 'Surface' or 'Internal' broaching applications. Surface applications include: flats, notches, serrations, slots, hex drives, turbine forms, key lock slots, connecting rods and special order broaches. Internal applications include: helical, pulley keyways and gear splines, rifling hole configurations in all geometric sizes. Broach tools are classified as ?Standard? or ?Special?. Standard tools include keyways, squares, full squares, and hexagon broaches in inch and metric sizes; special tool range from insert tooling to complicated involute splines and rifling broaches and also include application broaches for high-volume manufacturing. Data required to design a broach: size/shape of cut; length of cut (actual component length); component material & hardness; minimum pre bore size; major diameter, minor diameter with tolerance; broaching machine type/tonnage; type of broach required pull/push; pull end and rear end detail DIN 1415, 1417 or as per requirement; for involute spline-module pressure angle and between pin diameter, over pin diameter (on shaft/gauge); for serration ? flank angle internal/external between pin diameter/over pin diameter (on shaft/gauge); and in case of broach already in use, please give us drawing or sketch.
