Pioneer Machine Tools Corporation offers a heavy-duty, cone pulley drive, precision lathe. This has passed through stringent, stage-by-stage quality control tests under the strict supervision of qualified engineers, before leaving the shop floor. A high level of working accuracy and keen attention to quality makes the Pioneer lathe, the sturdiest, precise and versatile machine. The bed is wide, heavy and rigid. It incorporates the latest system of webs that resist torsional strains and ensure smooth operations. Made from close grained alloy cast iron, it exhibits strength and wear resisting properties. The three vee and flat ways are accurately machined and precision ground to maintain accurate travel of carriage and tailstock. The head stock body is of rigid construction of streamlined design. The flat seat of the headstock over the bed is hand-scraped for perfect matching. The spindle, made of precisely ground high tensile alloy steel, runs on two precision taper roller bearings mounted at the front and at the back. The machine is available in both semi Norton and full Norton feed gearboxes, in 2 TPI leading screws (4 TPI leading screw can also be supplied on request). The saddle has a long bearing surface and is hand scraped and guided on vee and flat ways for smooth travel. The compound slide is pivoted on a cross-slide with graduated swivel base, so that it can swivel to any angle. The saddle is also provided with a four-way tool post. The apron box is of sturdy, double walled construction. It has an automatic interlock to prevent simultaneous engagement of feed and threading mechanism. All gears and bearings, including the worm, have suitable lubrication arrangements. The tailstock is designed for instant locking of the quill, which is precisely ground and graduated.
