Heavy-duty cone pulley type lathe machines are available in various models. Salient features include: high rigidity and heavy duty performance; robust and simple design; IS 20/25 graded castings; rigid and box section type extra wide bed provides maximum torsional stiffness; rigid and accurate, alloy steel hardened and ground main spindle mounted on plain adjustable brass bearings; generously proportioned saddle and cross slide enables the machine to withstand heavy duty cutting load; apron is totally enclosed type with clutch sleeve engagement for longitudinal and cross power feed; wiper to protect bed ways from the chips; adequate lubrication arrangement provided; interlocked safety mechanism is apron between auto feed and threading arrangement; needs minimum care and low maintenance cost; built-in accuracy – important castings are artificially seasoned to retain built-in-accuracy; flame hardened and ground bed for minimum wear and tear; all precision components machined on imported/HMT machines; alloy lead screw made on German WMW thread milling machines; machines tested for geometrical accuracy as per IS 1878 – (Part I) 1993; and all components machined using jigs and fixtures to close tolerances providing for easy interchangeability later on.
