Yamazaki Mazak, the leading machine tools manufacturer in the world, offers Integrex series of CNC machines. These CNC turning centers have multi-tasking capabilities that surpass those of machining centers. Available specifications include: large capacity tool magazines, contouring using the C-axis, off-center Y-axis machining, inclined face machining using the B-axis, hardening by YAG laser, grinding and a wide variety of factory automation equipment. The versatile performance of the machine makes it the optimum machine to slash workpiece in-process time. It is an advanced multi-tasking turning center featuring milling performance at the same level as a machining center in addition to heavy-duty turning. Conventional machine tools have problems such as interference between the workpiece and turret, the speed and power of the milling spindle and the difficulty of creating machining programs that involve both turning and milling. The Integrex eliminates these problems, and adds even more versatility: it is a unique mill center capable of high efficiency in both turning and milling operations, and it can also completely finish workpieces by continuous machining by the first and second spindles (200SY). The main spindle, which uses Mazak's unique integral spindle/motor construction, maintains constant output over a wide speed range and can handle everything from heavy cutting of large diameter workpieces at low speed, powerful cutting at moderate speeds, to high-speed cutting of non-ferrous metals such as aluminum. The turret and ATC has a compact size by using a single-spindle turret design that can rotate so that the same tool can be used for OD machining or end-face machining. This completely eliminates interference between the tool, chuck and workpiece giving it a much larger machining capacity.
