The new WIDMA CNC Vertical Turret Lathe and Turn-mill Centre, VTL-850 and VTM-850, come with the never-before ability to handle a maximum turning diameter of 850 mm and turning length of 800 mm, the largest in their category. These machines will change the way machining is done today. With segment-leading capacity, rigidity and compactness, they offer remarkable capabilities to industry. While VTL-850 is designed to meet all turning and boring needs, VTM-850 has the capability to perform milling, drilling and tapping too. A precisely machined and hand scrapped base and column, made out of machine grade cast iron (grade CGI30), provides these machines with the required rigidity and ensures vibration-free operation. A 30 kW rigid and precise work spindle, owing to its generous sizing and NN series precision grade bearings, gives them the strength to face the challenges faced during actual cutting. The slide, fitted with heavy-duty linear guide ways and precision class ball screws, delivers the requisite levels of precision repeatedly. Besides, a series of operator & machine safety features meets the most stringent industry norms. VTL-850 comes with an eight-tool turret as a standard and twelve as an option. It also has a uniquely designed, powerful yet compact, indexable live spindle and a 20-tool automatic changer, a combination that provides it with a tremendous leverage to combine multiple operations in one setting. VTL-850 and VTM-850 are backed by process engineering from Kennametal’s global knowledge database as well as tooling support from the world’s leading brands – Kennametal and WIDIA, thus making them a complete metal working solution.
