Centre Lathe In Longer Bed Length

Already available in bed lengths of 1,000 mm, 1,500 mm and 2,000 mm, the Alpha 550 Ultimate centre lathe is now offered with an extended bed length of 3,000 mm to accommodate high turning length capacities. It offers three spindle speeds from 15 to 1,800 RPM. The spindle is bored to pass an exceptionally large 104 mm diameter. The tailstock diameter is 95 mm and the model is powered by an 11 kW motor. The use of the latest digital GE Fanuc electronic technology eliminates time consuming mechanical set-ups, for example, when cutting tapers and threads. All cutting operations are performed faster compared to a conventional machine, because infinitely variable feeds and speeds allow to achieve optimum cutting conditions.
