Capstan Lathe

Balwant capstan lathes are designed for rapid production of small components. Two models, BI-32 and BI-38 are suitable for components up to 32 mm and 38 mm in steel, non-ferrous metals or plastic. These may also be used for rehandling works. The unitized construction of the bed and body of the capstan lathe assures rigidity. The hardened spindle (dia hole 34 mm/40 mm) is carried in precision taper roller bearings for vibrationless working. The turret upper carriage is guided on large and long adjustable bed ways. One gets six operations from turret slide, two operations from cross slide and one operation from vertical slide. The taper turning slide can be moved forward and backward on an inclined taper turning till 25? and it allow a 55 mm strock length. Adjustable stops are provided in each direction. The triple-action cutting of the cross slide type Truco is robust. The capstan lathe can also be provided with 3- or 4-jaws chucks for working cast or forged pieces.
