Chennai-based Paras Engineering Co supplies all geared head lathe - model 215, with bed made of "A" grade casting duly processed with 400 to 450 BHN hardness.The headstock with hexagonal design has a centre height of 215 mm. The main spindle is made from EN-8 alloy steel by grinding and nitriding. The main spindle is supported on taper roller bearings. The saddle of the unit is well scrapped and has the surface and compound screw made of EN-8 steel. A four walled closed type apron is provided with oil sump having the best quality gears. Precision bearings and bronze metal bush are fitted for smooth operation. Sliding and surfacing feeds can be engaged by tightening a star knob and engaging lever at appropriate position. The tailstock made of EN-8 steel is provided with Mt-3 internal taper and can be off set for taper turning. The standard accessories of the lathe include four-position tool post; tool post key; chuck plate; centre adaptor and motor pulley. This machine with dimensions 1,900 mm x 670 mm x 1,240 mm, weighs 750 kg approximately.
