Birdman Chemeng offers YOTA Portable Hydraulic Cutter, designed specially as an aid to transmission line erection. An extremely handy and useful tool for fast and efficient cutting of ACSR, AAAC, AAC conductors and ground wires besides various other cutting capabilities, this tools is robustly built, rugged in design, dust and water proof, yet light weight is, meant for site working conditions. The cutter operates in any direction and in any position. It comprises of three integrated units combined to a single tool, viz., the cutter head, ram cylinder unit and the pump unit with built-in oil reservoir. The cutter head is a rectangular double frame structure made of high carbon high chrome steel, heat treated with high precision machined finish. It holds the upper fixed blade while the lower moveable blade slides along with the frame fixed to the ram of the cylinder unit. The ram cylinder unit is highly machine finished by honing/internal grinding process, which allows free movement of the ram with least friction. The ram is made of high tensile steel hard chrome deposited and with excellent ground finish, ensuring efficient movement. The cutting blade is fixed on the top of the ram, which moves along with the cutter head simultaneously with the movement of the ram. The buckets and oil seals used are of high purity synthetic rubber having good performance capabilities to undertake several hundred operations without changing of buckets and oil seals. The single plunger pump unit is specially designed to develop a full load at normal hand pressure. Maximum pressure attainable on full load is 640 kg/cm². Pressure is released by the release wheel provided with the pump unit. The pump plunger is actuated by the operating handle. The pump unit is built-in with oil reservoir, having capacity to retain 250 cc hydraulic oil. The cutter blade is made of special quality high speed steel, heat treated and ground finish, suitable to perform toughest cutting job.
