Tool Presetter With Linear Drives

DMG Microset GmbH is a leading manufacturer of manual and automatic Tool Presetter and part of Gildemeister group, Germany. With VIO Linear, it presents the first series of tool presetting units with linear drives for efficient and highly precise tool presetting of drilling, milling and turning tools. The direct drives in the X and Z axis offer the user highest dynamics, maximum repetition accuracy and unique reliability. Particularly the repeat accuracy about ±0.001 mm is not achieved in the market yet. Tool presetting with VIO linear series during set-up of chip removing machining process achieves increases in productivity of up to 25 percent at excellent value for money. Units of the VIO linear series have a modular design and cover a wide spectrum of tools: drilling, milling and turning tools with a diameter of up to 1000 mm and measuring lengths up to 1000 mm can be measured. The units can be upgraded to fully automatic CNC tool adjustment with numerous options. The high quality of the production process is complemented by fast and precise measurement by Microvision image processing software that is already established in the market. The software is available in two variants tailored to meet the customer’s requirement: Microvision III – high-quality measurement with simple, error-free transfer of the tool data to the machine controls (ETT), convenient operation with a 17” TFT screen; and Microvision IV – fully automated measurement with numerous options including two large 19” TFT screens and up to 67X magnification.
