Larsen & Toubro Limited offers Clamping System. This is a computer-optimised 5-point twin toggle clamping system that ensures uniform force distribution. This is of particular significance to multi-cavity moulding. The force line runs at an angle in relation to tool centre line. The major benefit of this system lies in its ability to lock the mould while keeping the plate perfectly parallel. Further there is an effective clamp force reserve when maximum locking is reached. Thus mould breathing and flashing are avoided enhancing part quality. Computer-optimised braking and acceleration profiles provide sensitive control of the high-speed movements of the 5-point twin toggle and minimise mould stresses. The graph shows how 5-point twin toggle system develops high speed over long strokes naturally slows down during mould closing. Mould movement times are kept low, there by increasing productivity. Moving platen is supported on the base by accurately machined roller bearings. The weight of moving half and the platen is transferred to the rigid base, resulting in less strain on tie bars and thus eliminate potential problems when running heavier moulds.
