Grinding System, High Fequency

Kuldip Winding Works offers Haller brand high frequency Grinding System. Heavy-duty grinding or back chipping or fettling of steel castings and forgings are daily challenges faced using conventional 50 Hz electric grinders and pneumatic tools. High frequency grinders running at 300 Hz that use an induction motor has been the choice world over for such applications. High frequency grinders use brushless induction motors (no carbon brushes, no armatures). Hence the electrical failure of grinders, frequency of replacement of spare-parts, the cost of maintenance and the hold up of production on account of all these are minimal. Being a near constant speed motors, high frequency grinding systems give about 30% higher production output using the same man-hours and they can also save recurring cost on grinding wheels, if right wheels are optimised. But, till recently, these types of systems had to be imported and the implementation as a project was beyond the scope of Indian SMEs. Haller high frequency grinding system is made in India, manufacturing both the frequency converter and the high frequency grinder. Haller has integrated the trolley-mounted converter with panel giving out “ready to plug in” high frequency outlets for grinders. What was in effect an elaborate project has been simplified and made within the reach of SMEs, who need these systems. Being affordable in price and simple to implement as a change over, SMEs need to look at this if the present process in heavy grinding is affecting production output and costs.
