Grinding And Super Finishing Machine - Stratos M

Körber Schleifring GmbH (India Liaison Office) offers a new combination machine Stratos M, manufactured by Schaudt Mikrosa BWF GmbH, Berlin, Germany, for hard turning, ID and OD grinding and super finishing. This allows for complex and economic precision machining of rotationally symmetrical work pieces in one chucking. The vertical arrangement of the work piece spindle (pick up) permits cost-effective automation. Individual tool stations are integrated in the machine according to the machining task. This makes possible the combination of different process technologies for a complete machining at the lowest possible unit costs. The machine can grind, super finish, finish, hone and mill grooves in complex work pieces in just one chucking. The individual tool positions, e.g., for internal and external cylindrical grinding or for finishing have been specifically dimensioned for heavy-duty processes. As a multi-functional machining solution, Stratos M and its individual tool package are an investment for the future. Some of the details of the features of the machine include: cast metal machine bed with optimum damping properties and high rigidity for precision machining; simplified handling due to the vertical work piece spindle (pick up); hydrostatic guides in the linear axes guarantee the highest precision and long life; maintenance-free precision bearings of spindles; non-productive time is kept to a minimum by the use of a linear motor in the X-axis; high cutting power with a high system rigidity; low unit costs; process safe dressing results with a stable dressing spindle and dedicated software package for combination machining.
