Double Disc Grinding Machines

Amolik Precision Machines has developed double disc grinding machines to grind two opposite surfaces simultaneously to get a high degree of parallelism and surface finish within close dimensional tolerance. The machine consists of two heavy duty spindles driven by separate motors and mounted on matched pairs of high precision preloaded angular contact spindle bearings for maximum rigidity. Spindles are of hollow design for the flow of coolant through the spindle as this is essential when grinding thin components. The spindle movement is on V-shaped needle-cage linear guide system to ensure accurate feeding free from any stick-slip. An efficient cooling system with filtration, diamond dressing unit, lubricating system and safety guards are provided to ensure high quality of grinding. Grinding wheel changeover is quick and easy. Spindle heads can be swivelled to ?4 degree to facilitate accurate setting. Standard and heavy duty versions are available for high output and heavy stock removal. Both ferrous and non-ferrous materials can be ground with equal ease. A dimensional tolerance of ?10 microns with parallelism of 5 microns can be achieved easily for smaller and medium size components. The machine is most suitable for grinding bearing rings, rollers'/needles' ends, piston rings, piston pins, connecting rods, engine valves, clutch plates, brake linings, thrust washers, valve plates, HSS tool bits, Alnico and ferrite magnets, carbide tips/inserts, segmented grinding blocks, ceramic seals, bricks and tiles, hand tools-pliers, spinners, carbon brushes, engineers' files and threading dies. Machines are custom built for manual, semi and fully automatic operations. They can be made available with grinding wheels of diameters from 250 mm to 1,000 mm to suit the end-users' requirements very economically.
