Double Disc Grinder

Amolik Precision Machines offers double disc grinder. The double disc grinder was developed to grind the two opposite flat surfaces simultaneously, the technique, reducing the grinding time to half as compared to conventional surface grinder where only one surface is ground at one time. A fast process that ensures closer dimensional tolerances (±0.010 mm) depending upon the size of components, the grinder helps to achieve parallelism within 0.005 mm depending upon the size. By choosing proper grinding wheels, the manufacturer can get the desired finish to the components. Wide range of auto components can be ground very successfully and very economically using the double disc grinder. Components like connecting rods, piston rings, piston pins, engine valves their seats, UJ-cross, ends of leaf springs, thrust washers, spacers, clutch plates, gears, fork selectors, etc. The double disc grinder is also used for grinding the bearing rings (races), cylindrical rollers and needles, Alnico/Ferrite magnets, mechanical seals, carbon brushes, and similar other components. The machine comes with specially designed swivelling arrangement for grinding wheel heads to provide the necessary tilt for better and smoother grinding. It also has a unique hydraulic grinding wheel dressing arrangement in which one can dress the grinding wheels in their tilted position and get a flat surface without "Cup & Cone" effect. The grinding wheel spindles are located in a specially designed housing such that it is rigidly supported from all four sides along its axis of movement – a feature that adds to the spindles rigidity, and results in good grinding. As the rigidity is high, one can take heavy grinding cuts (heavy stock-removal). Available with grinding wheel diameter range from 300 mm to 900 mm, the grinder could be had with three types of feeding arrangements. Thru-feed, rotary-feed, and reciprocating/oscillating feed. The grinder is also had in semi-automatic and automatic versions. Both horizontal spindle axis and vertical spindle axis is available depending upon the components.
