Camshaft Grinding Machine

The new camshaft grinding machine CamGrind S with an integrated loading system is extremely compact and versatile. It can grind camshafts of up to 650 mm in length. Depending on the production task, it can be employed as an individual machine or as a machining cell within a production line, if coupled with other machines using loading systems. Developed jointly with Fritz Studer AG from Thun/Switzerland, the CamGrind S is equipped with a swivelling spindle patented by Schaudt. Thanks to the reliable WOP-S programming system, surface profiles such as polygons, ellipses and free profiles can be achieved simply and efficiently. The machine is also extremely well suited to working on concave camshaft shapes. This small, compact machine requires very little space for installation. The machine has been designed for lubrication with emulsion or oil and the use of CBN grinding wheels with a maximum diameter of 480 mm. This feature guarantees long tool life, reduces the number of tool changes required and lowers down time. The optional hydrostatic guideway for the X-axis, used in conjunction with the digital drives, enables highly accurate positioning of the tool spindle while simultaneously facilitating optimum durability. These features enable the CamGrind S to guarantee high-precision grinding results ? even during HSP grinding.
